Scotty’s Secret Bread and Butter Pickle Recipe
“It’s just pickles”, you say.Think again. These ain’t just any ‘ol pickles.
Your future Grammy winner has this little trick up his sleeve.
SCOTTY’S SECRET BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLE RECIPE
MIX
25 cucumbers (sliced)
6 white onions
2 bell peppers (orange & yellow)
3 cloves of garlic…chopped
½ cup salt
LET STAND MINIMUM OF THREE HOURS
BOIL
3 cider vinegar
5 cup sugar
2 T mustard seed
1 ½ t celery seed
½ t. whole cloves
1 T ground turmeric
BOIL THE CRAP OUT OF IT…DON’T LEAVE THE ROOM…STIR OFTEN
DRAIN CUCUMBER MIX…BUT ONLY HALF OF THE JUICE
STIR IN HOT VINEGAR MIX…DON’T DO THIS BAREFOOTED…TRUST ME
HEAT IT UP…DON’T BOIL IT THOUGH
CANNING PROCESS TIME IS 12 MINUTES
A COUPLE OF THINGS:
When it comes to the vinegar mix I always make a batch and a half…you don’t want to run out of juice when you’re filling your jars.
If you slice your pickles too thin…you’ll end up with a cool kinda relish…just be sure to dice the peppers instead of slicing them. Else wise…slice them a little on the thick side.
This recipe makes about 10 or so quarts of pickles.

HWLWY…
Hell yeah!…always up for a food swap of any kind.
Gonna have to wait for next years cucumber crop to come in though…I have to grow them myself or it doesn’t count.
Next time we meet up…we shall discuss.
