Monica Davis

img_0106_1.jpgMy name is Monica and I’m the only female singer in Rheme Cleo. I also occasionally play the tambourine and shaker poorly…..and only during the lyrics….Tim yells at me if I play them any other time.

I’ve been involved with singing and dancing since I was really little. The first role I can remember was the Blue Fairy in grade school production of Pinocchio. I graduated from North Catholic High School and performed in the musicals there….I was president of the chorus, too. I performed on the stages of the Benedum and Heinz Hall in high school. I’m involved in New Kensington Civic Theater but haven’t done any shows there in a few years.

In 2006 I started performing with the Pittsburgh Opera. I get to dance around on the Benedum stage for a few shows a year and couldn’t be happier. You can already probably tell that I like to tell stories that don’t have any point. My friends have all learned to deal with that, thank goodness. All the guys in the band will tell you how much they hate going to karaoke(except for Jimmy), but that’s where we all met one night….secretly they’re BIG fans of it….especially Scotty. He LOOOOOOVES it when groups of tone deaf girls sing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” Really, that was a great night at karaoke and there have been a ton of great times ever since!!!

img_0134_3.jpgI’ve been in college for the past 10 years….am I a doctor? No, but I finally have that paper that says I’m as smart as anyone else who went to college for 4 years. I’m currently working on a second BA in Italian and Music with minors in German, theater, classics and dance instruction. I add new majors, minors and certificates to the plan every day, so this is all subject to change. Yeah, I know, you zoned out already; Just smile and nod….work with me here, people!!!!!!

Okay, I’m trying to write a lot during my bio because I really don’t cook - there isn’t going to be a recipe from me in that recipeimg_0139_1.jpg section.* Besides, all you people probably already know how to burn pop-tarts or make Kool-aid wrong……..yes, kiddies, it’s possible to do that. Back in the day the sugar wasn’t included……mmmmmmm non-flavored red water.

That’s about it….you’ll hear me doing ooohhhhs and aaahhhhhs a lot during the songs because I’m a terrible ad-libber….I’m going to stay true to form and end this bio with that, too. Oooohhhh, aaaahhhhhhhh.
