Tim Orban

img_0042.jpgIn November, 1963, in the state of Indiana, USA, I was born the son of an Air Force enlisted man, so the most part of my developing years were spent traveling from one State to another, one Country to another. I was strongly drawn to Drums at an early age, (probably around 6 or 7) I would tap my feet and hands to music way back then. My father always had an eclectic mix of music, from Jazz, Rock, Folk etc. on vinyl or reel to reel playing in the house.

My parents bought me a snare drum while I was in Elementary school (because they had met with the music teacher and asked if they taught drums, to which the answer was “sure if he has his own drum!) That is how Tim the Drummer was born!

Over the years in school bands I learned to read and play enough music to stay in the school bands. In my Junior high years, my Father was stationed in Germany. In that American school, I met a Baritone player who actually played drums in a Rock Band outside of school. That guy taught me more about drums than I had learned from all of the band teachers! Iimg_0038.jpg finally had a basis from which to grow and practice.

Years went by and I got better (or at least that’s what everyone told me) I bought a Drum kit in 1978, and have been playing off and on since. Having done a stint in the Air Force myself and got married\divorced and img_0054.jpgremarried, the Drums took a back seat in my life for about 7 years. I was just getting back into playing again when I ran into Carl Oehling at a local bar I hung out at!

And that, my friends, is the abbreviated version of how Rheme Cleo got stuck with me!!!
